NYF Founder Bestowed with Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Newsletter)

Washington, DC – On May 21st, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) bestowed the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) on New Young’s (NYF) National Director and Founder, Andre’ Dandridge along with 61 other men from several of America’s most resilient cities – Baltimore, Detroit, Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Akron, OH. PVSA’s were awarded by CNCS during a White House briefing on expanding opportunity hosted by the My Brother’s Keeper Task Force. The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes, celebrates and holds up as role models Americans making a positive impact as engaged and deeply committed volunteers.

BME Community, a national nonprofit organization that provides recognition, funding, and authentic networking opportunities to Black men who are building sustainable economic programs of which Dandridge is a recognized Community Leadership member of recognized over a quarter of their program leaders for their community work. All of these men known as “BME Community Leaders,” have each served their communities for 500 or more hours, totaling over 30,000 hours collectively.
